Must-Watch VALORANT Tournaments Coming Late 2024

The year isn’t over yet for VALORANT fans. Riot Games announced a dizzying list of off-season tournaments in August, confirming 33 events to keep you busy until next year’s VALORANT Champions Tour, the main event in this esports shooter’s packed competition calendar. The variety on offer for the year-end VALORANT tournaments is impressive and highly compelling for those who take part in VALORANT betting. Riot’s strategy of providing contests for aspiring pros and the world’s best players alike means some of the smaller tournaments are headed up by the Game Changers Championship in Berlin in the second week of November, which packs a prize fund of a cool $500,000. Shopify Rebellion, the 2023 tournament’s winning team, is back through the North American qualifiers to try to make it two in a row.

Geographically, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re mainly interested in the North American, European or Pacific leagues, there are tournaments in every region, including contests in Germany, Spain, South Korea, the US and China. The East Asia Tri-Cup, for example, is running in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, at the end of November.

Here are some of the must-watch VALORANT tournaments coming in November and December 2024.

Game Changers World Championship

Dates: November 8-17, 2024

Taking place at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany, this year’s edition of the Game Changers World Championship (announced in 2021 to “supplement the competitive season by creating new opportunities and exposure for women and other marginalized genders within VALORANT esports”) promises to be the hottest event in the official VALORANT off-season tournament calendar for 2024. This year’s competition is larger, featuring 10 teams instead of last year’s eight, giving players from North America, EMEA, CN, APAC, Brazil, and Latin America the chance to compete for a serious world championship trophy. North American team Shopify Rebellion came first last year, beating Team Liquid Brazil 3-2 in the final in Sao Paulo.

As a bonus, you’ll be able to get Game Changers Championship broadcast drops by watching matches on the official streams on YouTube and Twitch, provided you have your VALORANT account connected. Get more details on this and the tournament’s format on the official VALORANT esports site. This really isn’t one to miss.

Spike Nations Grand Finals

Dates: December 3-4, 2024

The teams to take place in the Spike Nations finals for this year, the fifth installment in this EMEA series, will be decided between November 18-27 in a series of single matches, leaving four teams to compete in the December finale. This is a strictly European affair: Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Britain and Turkey are the only countries competing for a slot in the final competition, which was won last year by Turkey. This year’s tournament will be held again in Madrid, Spain. Get all the information on this clash at the official site, including links to the streams in each nation’s language.

SOOP VALORANT League 2024

Dates: December 10-15, 2024

This Southeast Asian showdown sees its grand finals played in the Sangam SOOP Colosseum in Seoul, South Korea. Qualifiers for this major tournament took place in Thailand and Vietnam in October, with Made in Thailand Esports and Vietnam’s Rapid Lofi taking the final two of eight places, the other six featuring SOOP partner teams and invited competitors from separate global regions.

The first prize here is $25,000, and if the matches from the qualifying heats are anything to go by, this should be well worth watching. Check out Made in Thailand against NKT in Bangkok for a taste of what to expect in the December finals.

East Asia Tri-Cup

Dates: November 21-December 1, 2024

The first East Asia Tri-Cup, which took place in January this year, was the first VALORANT pro tournament conceived and hosted by the “CN region,” or China to everyone else. Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, hosted the first installment of this event, and while details on the 2024 version are light, the finals are confirmed for the last week in November. The whole point of this tournament is to promote ties between major East Asia teams, with the first competition featuring players from China, Japan, and Korea. Watch for details on streams closer to the time, as this is sure to include some great play.

Still Thriving

Since its release in 2020, VALORANT has become a thriving part of the eSports scene. With a variety of exciting events to close off 2024, it’s hard to see VALORANT going away anytime soon.

Players who have excelled in other titles have already been documented into pursuing a career in VALORANT and with that in mind, these tournaments will likely persist for many years to come.
