“Basketball Diary: March 3, 2006 I wake up early this morning, eager to get to the basketball court. I put on my shoes and head out the door, but something doesn’t feel right. My stomach is in knots and I start to feel lightheaded. I sit down on the stoop, trying to catch my breath. I realize that I’m having a panic attack. I take a few deep breaths and try to calm myself down, but it’s no use. I start to hyperventilate and my heart is racing. I feel like I’m going to pass out. I’m still shaken up and my heart feels like it’s about to beat out of my chest. I can’t concentrate on the game and I end up sitting on the bench for most of the time.
